I am trialing the remote to replace the harmony remote but the experience hasn’t been great. In Plex if I want to fast forward the remote seems to send 1 key at a time and the response is jerky. On the other hand it is much better with the Harmony remote which is paired over bluetooth with the shield. Wonder if it is possibly to improve this?
The remote introduces a lot of latency (all my devices are wired/on ethernet except the remote).
are you using the android remote integration in HA or the ADB integration? the latency can be avoided entirely.
however, the poor fast forward or press and hold functionality still needs work and we have been talking about it here for a little while now, it is on their plan for the future.
