Hi Sanytron team,
I’m developing a project on my Astrion HA100 and I’d like to request the Linux
kernel source code for the firmware it ships with. The kernel is licensed
under GPL-2.0, which requires that the complete, corresponding source be made
available to anyone who has the device, so I’m hoping you can publish it.
The exact build I’m asking about
- Device: Astrion HA100 (MediaTek MT6580)
- Kernel:
Linux 3.18.79 #7 SMP PREEMPT armv7l - Firmware:
RS30_HAOS_HA100_V1.0.4 - Build product name:
x15cm_s90_kr(the shipped kernel reports a build path
of/home/felix/ha100fw/alps/out/target/product/x15cm_s90_kr/, so this
corresponds to a complete MediaTek ALPS kernel tree on your side)
What I’m requesting
Per GPL-2.0 §3, the complete and corresponding source code for the Linux
kernel in the shipped firmware, including:
- the full kernel tree at version 3.18.79 as built for this device,
- the defconfig used for this build,
- all modified or added GPL-licensed drivers compiled into or loaded by this
kernel, and - the scripts and Makefiles used to configure, compile and install it.
The device-specific drivers in particular are not available in any public
MediaTek MT6580 source tree, so the vendor tree is the only place they exist:
- the display / LCM driver (
mtkfb,st7701spanel), - the touchscreen driver (
tlsc6x), - the IR blaster driver (
mt_irtx), - the keypad and MediaTek EINT drivers,
- the in-SoC CONSYS Wi-Fi driver (
wlan_drv/wmt).
How to deliver it
Whatever is easiest for you: a public git repository, a downloadable tarball,
or a link posted here. If there’s a formal process or an address you’d prefer
I use for a written source request, please just point me to it.
Thank you!
