I thought it might be useful to put some real world battery usage up on the forum.
Basically 2 days battery for me if I leave it off charge.
Feel free to add your own.
I’m getting 2 days of light usage, or 1 day of heavy usage.
Perfectly acceptable for me since I can put the charging dock next to the couch and put it down in its charger.. just needs a piece of tape over that awful LED that’s on all the time!

I think there is a little button on the back of the holder that you can use to turn the LED OFF. I read it somewhere but I am not sure of the button press required to turn it off. Like you my charging dock is within reach next to the couch while using the remote.
I see on my unit that one of the major battery users is the bluetooth radio, so since it has no real utility at this time, disabling it will further improve battery life.

The battery is equivalent if not better than my logitech harmony remote. I had bluetooth off during my battery test.
