Couch - Linux based replacement OS for HA100

Have been working on this for a bit.

Couch replaces Android on the HA100 with a custom Linux kernel, integration clients written in rust, and a Slint touchscreen interface.

Happy to field questions and I am looking for testers as well - specifically folks that have some device categories that I can’t test on.

Awesome work! What’s the benefit of this over other Android based approaches?

primarily less bloat, better performance and broader functional expandability. I am finalizing an installer now so that people can play around with it on their remotes without needing to build from source etc.

The user interface demo on the website is compiled in webasm from the actual GUI source, so the look, feel and responsiveness are identical to what is on the remote (obviously you can use the physical keys on the remote to navigate and interact with everything - touch is optional, not required).

Looks very legit! Gonna see if I can get it into one of my remotes tonight!

I am finalizing a cross-platform installer that should be ready soon. This will allow you to backup your android settings etc, and install couch for testing. Follow the github page for updates.

The installer is ready for testing / preview.

There is a discord link in the repo and on the github site for project discussion. Please report all issues on github.

A very impressive open-source project

Very cool! I may try to port my personal UI to framework this build just to benchmark responsiveness and battery.
